Make 21 Articulated Puppets from the Early Modern Era
The 21 famous people in this book come in two versions: one colored and one to color. The card stock pages make sturdy paper dolls wearing historically accurate costumes. You may laminate the pages before cutting them out to strengthen them for younger children. We label the back of each paper doll with a letter key for easy identification and assembly. Cut out the pieces. Use a 1/8″ round hole punch to form a hole at each joint. Finally, place a mini brad through the joint hole and you have a moving historical character!
Includes Facts and a Reading List
There is a short description about each person at the beginning of the book, along with a list of books to read aloud. Read to your children while they make articulated puppets of the famous people from the early modern era. You may use these historical paper dolls with biographies, with lap books, as a unit study, on a timeline, or with any early modern era history curriculum. Famous Figures of the Early Modern Era works well with Story of the World Volume 3, Sonlight Curriculum, Classical Conversations, Mystery of History, and many others.

“If you’d like to creatively transport your child from the present to learn about how famous people lived thousands of years ago, then this book is for you….This imaginative book allows children ages 6-12 to perform their own historical re-enactments or even create new stories using famous people from ancient times. As a parent, I personally recommend this book.“

“Cathy Diez-Luckie has taken a different approach to Tom Tierney’s paper dolls by offering more interaction as well as brief descriptions of the important men (her literature indicates women will feature in future volumes) she depicts. I would have loved her book when I was a kid. I plan to purchase the upcoming dinosaur and animal books as well.”
